Save the Date: National Charter School Week will be May 1 - 7, 2011

      It's a Fact

  1. All Charter Schools are public schools - open to all students
  2. Charter schools build partnerships between parents, teachers and students to boost academic achievement
  3. And, as public schools, charters never charge tuition.

May 1 through 7 is National Charter Schools Week. Charter schools and Charter School Associations across the country are holding events to raise awareness about charter schooling and celebrate the successes and growth of the nation's 5,000 public charter schools, serving over 1.6 million children in 40 states and the District of Columbia, including 44 schools, serving over 14,000 students in Maryland. The Week at a Glance

Across the State, many Maryland Charter Schools will be opening their doors to visitors on Friday, May 6, from 9am-10am. Charter First Fridays is open to the community to visit, tour and learn about public charter schools. Check with your local charter school to see if they are participating if they are not listed below. The following schools are participating so far(check back, schools are being added daily).
